How Wordle works
Wordle gives you six tries to find a five-letter word. After each guess, tiles turn green (right letter, right spot), yellow (right letter, wrong spot), or gray (not in the word). One puzzle drops each day; everyone gets the same answer.
Practical tips that actually help
Start with a word that mixes common vowels and consonants — something like CRANE, SLATE, or AUDIO — then react to the colors. Do not burn a guess repeating a letter you already know is gray. If you have two greens and a yellow, write the yellow letter in every open slot on paper before guessing; it is faster than staring at the board.
Plurals and past-tense endings show up often enough that -S and -ED are fair mid-game probes when you are stuck. Hard mode (must reuse confirmed greens/yellows) slows lucky shotgun guesses and is worth turning on if you like the pressure.
